The Arc of Ohio-Stark County is thrilled to announce the kick-off of a new program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Empower. Empower is designed to help our adult attendees get the skills they need to achieve their goals and potential. This will be done through a focus on three areas: Entertainment/Social Activities, Self-Advocacy Skills and Employment Issues.
The program will offer year-round opportunities, and projects and activities will be scheduled that are reflective of the attendees’ interests, while offering something for all levels of ability. The Arc hopes to offer monthly events.
To celebrate the commencement of Empower, The Arc is hosting a Kick-Off Luau on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 12-4 pm at Greentown Community Park (9845 Cashner Rd. Greentown, Ohio 44630) for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn more about the program. We will also have a fun-filled afternoon of outdoor activities and food! All levels of ability are welcome. Registration is only $5 per person.
Space is limited, please RSVP by Friday, August 21st. For more information or to RSVP please call The Arc at (330) 492-5225.
