The Arc of Ohio-Stark County’s Summer Camp is a four-week day program for school-age children (4-22) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Camp is held Monday through Friday at Baylor Beach Park in Navarre. The goal of this program is to meet the social and recreational needs of children with developmental disabilities, while providing respite for parents and guardians. Daily camp activities include:
- arts & crafts
- interactive games
- dancing & music
- and much more!
Each week of camp has a unique theme to keep campers interested and engaged! Special activities are also planned such as visits from the Hall of Fame court and the Aultman School of Nursing.
Camp counselors are Special Education teachers, college students and other professionals and volunteers. Safety is a top priority at The Arc’s Summer Camp! All of our counselors and volunteers are background checked and a registered nurse will always be on-site! Transportation is also provided.
The cost of The Arc’s Summer Camp is $225 per week and campers can attend one, two, three or all four weeks of the program. Members of The Arc of Ohio-Stark County receive a 10% discount on camp fees! FSS coupons from the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities are also accepted as a payment option. If you are interested in learning about available scholarships–or sponsoring a less fortunate camper–please contact our Camp Director, Brittany Kuhn.
